Endowed Gifts

Your Gift Can Last Forever

An endowment gift to the Dean McGee Eye Institute (DMEI) Foundation today provides a bright future for the Eye Institute and those we serve. When you make a donation to an endowment, you give a gift with both immediate and long-term benefits.

Endowment donations are invested. A portion of the annual income from the investment is used to address immediate needs at DMEI. The remaining funds are reinvested to ensure perpetual support.

An Example of How It Works

Doctors performing surgery. Longtime DMEI supporters Susan and Charlie have two goals: First, they want to make sure DMEI continues to receive support after they're gone. Second, they want to memorialize Charlie's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jones.

Susan and Charlie make a $25,000 donation to the DMEI Foundation, which qualifies for a federal income tax charitable deduction on their taxes. We invest these funds and each year a portion of the income earned on the invested funds will be used to support our mission in honor of Charlie's parents.
